CONCEPT

When plants receive light, they
eventually bloom.
Flowers use their shape and color to let insects and birds know of their presence, and lure them with their scent.
Insects and birds collect nectar and
carry pollen, then carry it to the next flower in search of the same flower.
In this way, flowers and insects interact with each other and evolve together – they co-evolve.

Visitors can re-examine the existence of non-human beings such as flowers, light,
and insects through "play" here at Hibiya Park, a space that is open to everyone.
In this space, traces and trajectories of humans and non-humans intersect, their lines intertwining to create all kinds of knots.
It is a place to consider "ways of gathering together with others,"
and will serve as a "rehearsal" for our responses and preparations for potential coming disasters.

    -Ishinha Food Stall Party

    Adjacent to Ishinha's outdoor theater, “Food Stall Party” is an essential part of Ishinha's performances. It exists as a vibrant space - not only for audiences, but also for staff and performers - offering opportunities for chatting. Like the theater, it is set up to take advantage of the characteristics of the site, and at times there are up to 30 stalls, holding food shops, variety stores, beauty salons, massage parlors, etc., creating the appearance of a temporary, imaginary town - a "fictional city." It is not made of prefabricated tents, but of old logs, scaffolding boards, and other wood, creating a unique, nostalgic space that is organically built. Some people are so fascinated by it that they visit just to witness the Food Stall Party, even without seeing a show. Although Ishinha disbanded, it continues to put on this “Ishinha Food Stall Party”.

    ■INTRODUCTION
    Ishinha is a theater group that has traveled around the world giving open-air performances. The open-air performance in Osaka was set in a place with a river flowing around it and a view of Osaka's skyscrapers at the back of the stage. The stage was lined with 16 square “islands,” each measuring about 5 meters on each side and equally spaced. The actors jumped from one island to another, running between them. As the characters talk about their personal memories and roots, along with the names of real places and cities, their individual gazes toward the “city” appear on stage. This major piece brings to light the multi-layered memories of people that flow from the past to the present, elevating them into the realm of urban theory.

    ■STORY
    A boy meets Hitsuji (a sheep) in the city, whose grandmother was born in Okinawa and whose mother was born in Osaka.
    The two run through the streets and alleys of their grandmother's memory of Osaka. Skyscrapers, signs, the Internet, the dead, shadows, and people's memories abound in the city. What they see is “Osaka,” a place where the present and the past, the false and the real, intersect.

    ■INTRODUCTION
    The performance location, Soni Village in Nara Prefecture, is located on the border between Nara and Mie prefectures and is rich in nature. The ever-changing colors of the sky and the mountainous backdrop of the stage and the performances by more than 40 performers embody a “one-time-only theater” in which no two performances are the same at any given moment. The piece incorporates the history of the village and the 300-year-old oral tradition of dance, making it a meaningful piece as it is performed right in Soni Village. At the end of the story, an art piece using 1,000 pairs of old shoes collected from inside and outside of the village moves viewers’ hearts by bringing up feelings about walking on one's own feet and the long amount of time the shoes have traced.

    ■STORY
    Wataru is a young boy on a pilgrimage to Ise. Lost in the mountains of Nara, Wataru sees a mysterious creature. Wataru is guided to Soni Village, where he meets a mischievous child named Haru. The two of them watch a lion dance (Japanese traditional dance) at the village festival and explore a cave together, and Wataru forgets that he was lost, quickly becoming friends with Haru. Quietly gazing at them from the side is Wataru, who has grown up and visits Soni Village again. Having grown up, he is again at a crossroads in his life...

    Breathing Training Pools – By the Moat of the Imperial Palace
    How does Hibiya Park, a place where all kinds of people come and go every day, appear to flowers, plants, insects, and microorganisms? In this work, through “breath = pneuma,” the performers will practice feeling this world in which the breaths of living creatures and humans blend and circulate. The performers, who were gathered through open call, will perform in the set of Hibiya Park in the morning, and with the support of artists miu and Mikiko Kawamura's navigation tour, they will breathe, daydream, and drift through the performance as "small, non-human creatures”. At the end of the tour, they will play the role of small creatures drifting in the water during the drowning scene of Ophelia in Shakespeare's “Hamlet”.
    The viewers, on the other hand, will become “human beings” strolling in the park as they surreptitiously observe these tiny creatures, which would normally be invisible to the viewer. When participants place themselves in the atmosphere woven by the breath of plants, living creatures, and humans, they may be able to see a new image of Hibiya Park.

Those without experience in performance or dance are also free to apply. No prior training is required, participants may simply join on the day of the event.

    The Greek tragedy “The Prometheus Trilogy” by Aeschylus was created as a VR work by artist Meiro Koizumi. The third and final chapter, “Prometheus the Fire-Bringer”, depicts a mythical future in which humans are transformed by technology into completely different beings, and technology, nature, and humans become one.
    The audience is immersed in a world of light that only butterflies can perceive in a VR space, and the contours of their own bodies become increasingly blurred. How will the “new humans,” whose bodies and perceptions have been rewritten, live in this world?

    A project developed in various locations by Toru Koyamada, an early member of Dumb Type and an artist who has continued to explore and practice ways of creating places for people to gather, such as "Weekend Café”. The project aims to create opportunities for meaningful communication through the sharing of time and space around a fire, the most primitive form of “light”. During the program period, a variety of guests will be invited to give talks and hold other events that consider the possibilities of parks as shared spaces.

    ■INTRODUCTION
    Ishinha is a theater group that has traveled around the world giving open-air performances. The open-air performance in Osaka was set in a place with a river flowing around it and a view of Osaka's skyscrapers at the back of the stage. The stage was lined with 16 square “islands,” each measuring about 5 meters on each side and equally spaced. The actors jumped from one island to another, running between them. As the characters talk about their personal memories and roots, along with the names of real places and cities, their individual gazes toward the “city” appear on stage. This major piece brings to light the multi-layered memories of people that flow from the past to the present, elevating them into the realm of urban theory.

    ■STORY
    A boy meets Hitsuji (a sheep) in the city, whose grandmother was born in Okinawa and whose mother was born in Osaka.
    The two run through the streets and alleys of their grandmother's memory of Osaka. Skyscrapers, signs, the Internet, the dead, shadows, and people's memories abound in the city. What they see is “Osaka,” a place where the present and the past, the false and the real, intersect.

    ■INTRODUCTION
    The performance location, Soni Village in Nara Prefecture, is located on the border between Nara and Mie prefectures and is rich in nature. The ever-changing colors of the sky and the mountainous backdrop of the stage and the performances by more than 40 performers embody a “one-time-only theater” in which no two performances are the same at any given moment. The piece incorporates the history of the village and the 300-year-old oral tradition of dance, making it a meaningful piece as it is performed right in Soni Village. At the end of the story, an art piece using 1,000 pairs of old shoes collected from inside and outside of the village moves viewers’ hearts by bringing up feelings about walking on one's own feet and the long amount of time the shoes have traced.

    ■STORY
    Wataru is a young boy on a pilgrimage to Ise. Lost in the mountains of Nara, Wataru sees a mysterious creature. Wataru is guided to Soni Village, where he meets a mischievous child named Haru. The two of them watch a lion dance (Japanese traditional dance) at the village festival and explore a cave together, and Wataru forgets that he was lost, quickly becoming friends with Haru. Quietly gazing at them from the side is Wataru, who has grown up and visits Soni Village again. Having grown up, he is again at a crossroads in his life...

    Breathing Training Pools – By the Moat of the Imperial Palace
    How does Hibiya Park, a place where all kinds of people come and go every day, appear to flowers, plants, insects, and microorganisms? In this work, through “breath = pneuma,” the performers will practice feeling this world in which the breaths of living creatures and humans blend and circulate. The performers, who were gathered through open call, will perform in the set of Hibiya Park in the morning, and with the support of artists miu and Mikiko Kawamura's navigation tour, they will breathe, daydream, and drift through the performance as "small, non-human creatures”. At the end of the tour, they will play the role of small creatures drifting in the water during the drowning scene of Ophelia in Shakespeare's “Hamlet”.
    The viewers, on the other hand, will become “human beings” strolling in the park as they surreptitiously observe these tiny creatures, which would normally be invisible to the viewer. When participants place themselves in the atmosphere woven by the breath of plants, living creatures, and humans, they may be able to see a new image of Hibiya Park.

    [Calling for General Performers!]
    We are calling for participants to perform as "small, non-human creatures” set in Hibiya Park in the morning in Kumiko Ueda + miu + Mikiko Kawamura’s performance piece, “Breathing Training Pools – By the Moat of the Imperial Palace.” Artists miu and Mikiko Kawamura will navigate participants through simple body work. Those without experience in performance or dance are also free to apply. No prior training is required, participants may simply join on the day of the event.

    The Greek tragedy “The Prometheus Trilogy” by Aeschylus was created as a VR work by artist Meiro Koizumi. The third and final chapter, “Prometheus the Fire-Bringer”, depicts a mythical future in which humans are transformed by technology into completely different beings, and technology, nature, and humans become one.
    The audience is immersed in a world of light that only butterflies can perceive in a VR space, and the contours of their own bodies become increasingly blurred. How will the “new humans,” whose bodies and perceptions have been rewritten, live in this world?

    A project developed in various locations by Toru Koyamada, an early member of Dumb Type and an artist who has continued to explore and practice ways of creating places for people to gather, such as "Weekend Café”. The project aims to create opportunities for meaningful communication through the sharing of time and space around a fire, the most primitive form of “light”. During the program period, a variety of guests will be invited to give talks and hold other events that consider the possibilities of parks as shared spaces.

ISHINHA

Founded in 1970, mainly by Yukichi Matsumoto, Ishinha was a theater group based in Kansai area and performed in various locations across Japan and abroad. In 1991, the group established its own style called “Jan-Jan Opera,” with “Shonengai(Boy’s town)” performed outdoors in Shiodome, Tokyo. The group is unique in every aspect, including speech, dance, and music. Most notably, they attracted major attention through their expression on an unprecedented scale, as they built a huge theater in the open air with their own hands, leaving no trace of it after the performance was over. Their uniqueness of their work transcended the boundaries of theater, influencing many creators of our time. The group's representative works include “Kankara” (2002), which was performed at the site of a former copper refinery on a remote island, and “Kokyu Kikai (Breathing Machine)” (2008), which drew attention for its “Lake Biwa Water Stage” built on the surface of Lake Biwa. The group disbanded in December 2017.

[ Ishinha Food Stall Party ]
Adjacent to Ishinha's outdoor theater, “Food Stall Party” is an essential part of Ishinha's performances, providing a place for not only the audience but also the staff and performers to chat before and after the show. Like the theater, it is set up to take advantage of the characteristics of the site, and at times there are up to 30 stalls, holding food shops, variety stores, beauty salons, massage parlors, etc., creating the appearance of a temporary, imaginary town - a "fictional city." It is not made of prefabricated tents, but of old logs, scaffolding boards, and other wood, creating a unique, nostalgic space that is organically built. Some people are so fascinated by it that they just enjoy the Food Stall Party, even without seeing a show. Although Ishinha disbanded, it continues to put on this “Ishinha Food Stall Party”.

Originally from Shimane Prefecture in Japan, miu studied sonology/electronic music at Kunitachi College of Music (Japan) and the Royal Conservatory of The Hague (Netherlands). His main activities include creating and presenting stage works, sound performances, and installations. He focuses on phenomena such as communication gaps, errors, misunderstandings, transformations, and the virtualization of memory that arise between different cultures, languages, and eras. Observing people and events that "do not belong" to their place, despite being there, is central to his work. Since moving to the Netherlands in 1998, he has lived in London, Bochum, and Ulm, and has been based in Düsseldorf since 2014. For him, going to Japan feels more like "going" than "returning."

Kumiko Ueda is a playwright and director from Nara, Japan. She graduated from Kyoto University, Faculty of Letters, Department of French Language and Literature. After working in a corporation, she joined the directing department of Takarazuka Revue in 2006. She started playwriting and directing in the company in 2013, and won the Award for the Best Director at the 23rd Yomiuri Theater Award for Hoshiai Hitoyo. After leaving the company in 2022, she became the final nominee of Kunio Kishida Drama Award for her play Biome, a spectacular reading.

From 2023 to 2024, she underwent the training at Théâtre de Gennevilliers in France with the Program of Overseas Study for Upcoming Artists by the Agency for Cultural Affair. She has been selected as Saison Fellow II since 2024. She is currently based mainly in Nara, Tokyo, and France.

She aims to create work that breaks down the boundary between art and entertainment, addressing critically reflective themes. She leads the theater company projectumi which is an organization for executing creative projects rather than a company to which actors belong. In their creation, they invite collaborators for each production to explore means of expression that allow them to share contemporaneous issues in-depth while being accessible to all.

Mikiko Kawamura
Mikiko Kawamura

Mikiko Kawamura is a Japanese dancer and choreographer.

Born in Tokyo, Kawamura started her professional dance career in 2011. Since then, she has achieved remarkable milestones in the field of contemporary dance. From 2011 to 2024, she has performed in 33 cities across 16 countries. She choreograph and perform 20 pieces or over.

In 2014, she won the “Next Generation Choreographer Award” and the “Audience Award” for her work “Inner Mommy” in Toyota Choreography Award. The following year, she received the “Jury Prize” and the French Embassy Prize for Young Choreographer, supported by Air France, at the Yokohama Dance Collection EX2015.

In 2016, Kawamura was invited to the French National Dance Center CCN/R in Lyon and spent six months as an artist-in-residence member in Paris, Lyon, Grenoble, Marseille, Cannes, and Le Havre.

Kawamura’s recent performances include N.P, a Lisa Spilliaert film based on a novel by Banana Yoshimoto; The Bacchae – Holstein Milk Cows, a play written and directed by Satoko Ichihara; and Naoto Iina’s film “ San (三)” in TOKYO REAL UNDERGROUND the Tokyo Tokyo FESTIVAL Special 13, where she played the role of a complete copy of the Japanese Butoh legend Tatsumi Hijikata.

In 2022, Kawamura formed the unit "Iroha" with Taishi Watanabe and began
performing on the street. In addition to writing her own essays, producing original songs and she have started up a general handmade store Kawamura industry selling custom knitwear and accessories.

Meiro Koizumi

Meiro Koizumi

Born in 1976 in Gunma, Japan. He explores the relationships between the state/community and the individual, and between the human body and emotions, through experimental videos and performances that interweave reality and fiction. He has participated in numerous international exhibitions such as Tate Modern’s BMW Tate Live, Shanghai Biennale, and Sharjah Biennale. His solo exhibitions include "Theaters of Life" (Museum De Pont, The Netherlands, 2025), “Battlelands” (Pérez Art Museum Miami, 2018), “Today My Empire Sings” (Vacant, Tokyo, 2017), “Trapped Words Dream of Silence” (Arts Maebashi, Japan, 2015), “Projects 99: Meiro Koizumi” (Museum of Modern Art, New York, 2013). His experimental VR Theater piece “Prometheus Bound,” which was premiered at Aichi Triennale 2019, won the Grand Prize in the 24th Art Division of the Japan Media Arts Festival. In 2021, he won Artes Mundi Prize (Cardiff, UK). His installation works are included in numerous public collections worldwide.

Born in Kagoshima in 1961, Toru Koyamada enrolled in Kyoto City University of Arts in 1981. While still a student, he founded the performance group Dumb Type with friends in 1984, then went on to start his solo activities in 1998, focusing on the development of shared spaces, as he continues to build places where all kinds of people can gather. In recent years, he has been experimenting with the creation of shared spaces centered around bonfires. He has been teaching sculpture at Kyoto City University of Arts since 2010. In April 2025, Koyamada will become chairman and president of Kyoto City University of Arts.

小山田徹『火床』火守ボランティアを募集!

ダムタイプ初期メンバーで「ウィークエンドカフェ」など、人が集まる場のあり方の模索と実践を重ねてきたアーティストの小山田徹によるプロジェクト「火床」が日比谷公園に登場します。
「火床」という小さな共有空間の中心となる「火」を管理し、場をともにつくりあげるサポートを務めていただく、火守ボランティアスタッフを募集します。火の取り扱いや本企画についての事前講習も実施しますので、興味のある方は是非ご応募ください。

【アーティストからのメッセージ】
今日は、美術家の小山田徹です。
私は長らく社会の中に、人々が緩やかに集まり、緩やかに対話し、様々なモノやコトが交歓され、シェアが自然におこる共有空間が必要であると思い、美術家の立場から様々な場の創造を試みてきました。色々試した中で、最も効果的で楽しかったのが焚き火を核とした場創りでした。よく考えてみると、火と人類の関係の歴史はとんでもなく長いのです。現生人類の先輩達の時代から考えると100万年以上の歴史があり、現生人類は20万年以上の付き合いがあります。想像してみて下さい、20万年、毎日焚き火の前にいた事を。火抜きの生活なんて考えられなかったのではないでしょうか?50年ほど前まで、日本でも、毎日家の中で直火が存在し、至る所で焚き火が行われていました。ほとんどの人が焚き火の経験者で、子ども達も家の手伝いの中で火に関わる事ごとが多くありました。現代は、オール電化で家の中から直火は消えて、社会の中から焚き火は消えつつあります。マッチやライターすらつけた事がない子ども達が増えてきています。ましてや、焚き火を熾すなんて。変な胸騒ぎがするのは私だけでしょうか?人類が綿々と引き継いできた火との関係が途切れつつあるのです。人類史上初めての出来事なのです。その代わり、目に見えない、アンタッチャブルな巨大な火からエネルギーをもらっています。コントロールできないものに身を委ねている。災害が起こるたび、人々は焚き火を熾して生き延びてきました。今までは、まだ焚き火の技術と経験のある方々がいる場所での災害でしたが、これからの未来はどうでしょうか?安全な焚き火、安全な調理、安全な消火ができるでしょうか?不安になります。子供の頃から、焚き火場の楽しみに触れ、火の危険性や有効性を体感して技術を獲得すると共に、焚き火周りでの大人達の穏やかな対話を小耳にはさみながら、対話力を身につけていく。議論、ディベート、言いまかしではない対話の重要性に気づく。食べ物のおいしさに気づいて、シェアする事の喜びを感じる。焚き火にはそれらを誘発する力があるのです。
私はよく夢想する風景が有ります。夕方になると、街の至る所で焚き火が熾り、人々が火を囲みながら談笑している。子ども達はそんな焚き火場を巡りながら家に帰る。大人も仕事帰りにフラッと立ち寄り、火に手をかざしながら談笑する。たまには焼き物を頂きながら、焚き火の梯子が出来る。しかも、誰もスマホもテレビも見ていない時間。妄想です。少しでもこんな瞬間を出現させてみませんか?

朝の日比谷公園を舞台に「人間ではない生き物」を演じる参加者を募集します。本作での出演者は、「呼吸」をとおして生物たちとヒトの呼吸が溶け合い循環するこの世界を感じる練習をし、シェイクスピア『ハムレット』の名場面「オフィーリアの溺死」の際に水中に漂う「小さな生き物」たちを演じることに挑みます。アーティストのmiuと川村美紀子が、簡単な身体のワークを通して皆さんをナビゲートしますので、演技経験や事前の稽古は必要ありません。出勤前、土曜日の朝に、日比谷公園を舞台に、いつもとは違う視点や感覚を体験しませんか?たくさんの方からのご応募をお待ちしています。

最近、気になっています。どうしてほとんどの戯曲には、人間の登場人物しか出てこないんだろう?劇場の中には、人間の時間しか流れていないんだろうか?
シェークスピアのハムレットというお芝居をご存知でしょうか?
デンマーク王子ハムレットの恋人だったオフィーリアが心傷つき小川で死んでしまうピソードは、悲しく美しいイメージによって、17世紀以来たくさんの観客の涙を誘い、有名な絵画にも描かれてきました。
気になってしまいます。オフィーリアが落っこちた小川の中の、水草や魚やバクテリアには、美しい死の場面はどんなふうに感じられるんだろう?
もしかして、こわい?もしかして、ご馳走が落ちてきて嬉しい?
「呼吸」と「音」を手がかりに、人間以外の存在の感覚がどんな感じか、妄想、空想しているうちに、それが姿勢や、動きを変えてくれるかもしれません。皆さんはオフィーリアの死の場面に登場する、人間ではない出演者になって、日比谷公園の地形を活かした「舞台」の上で、呼吸をし、ゆらめき、空想をします。
それが私たちのパフォーマンスです。

Aokid will hold workshop program “Wanpaku-Work: Kids and Adults, Come Join the Park’s Playbox”! Aokid, a dancer and artist, will hold a workshop that helps us relearn how to “play” by moving around the park using our bodies and our minds.
As children, we must have learned many things as we spent time playing in different places. Adults and children alike are invited to come join for warm-up exercises and experience touching the trees, soil, and stones, as they look all around the park, making full use of their bodies and the park to create their own form of "play = expression". Will it be a song, a dance, a painting, or a movie? From chapters one to three, participants are free to join throughout the day or partially. We invite you to come play in nature, so absorbed in it that you won't notice the evening coming. 

Chapter 1: “Kitohito (Trees & People)” |13:00-14:15
Beginning with Aokid's preparatory exercises “Henteko Taiso (Silly Exercises)”, participants will be exposed to nature in the park and familiarize their bodies with the environment.

Chapter 2: “Chizu, Bou, Ken (Maps, Sticks, Swords)”|14:30-15:45
Focusing on the characteristics of each location in the park, participants will create their own expressions and movements, practicing “envisioning” by viewing wooden sticks as swords, and expanding the map of their “playground”.

Chapter 3: “Ma, Ho (Ma-gic)”|16:00-17:30
Each expression created by the participants will be gathered together to create and present a single performance.

*Chapters 1 through 3 are taken as a series of “play”. Participants may join for all chapters, or by single chapters.

Aokid was born in Tokyo in 1988, and started breakdancing at the age of 14. He spent his adolescence immersed in dance and film. While studying film at Tokyo Zokei University, he began creating performing arts and art works. He presented the solo dance piece “Earth Freedom!” (ST Spot, 2019) and held the solo exhibition “An empty house for the arts” (nito, 2024).



6steps will hold “Place 6steps in Hibiya Park” workshop program! “6steps” is a 6-step wooden staircase. We have been working with choreography and stage setting in various places and spaces, spending time with all kinds of people through performances and non-performance-oriented endeavors, exploring what it means to dance in society, and to be alone while still being with someone. Held for the first time outdoors in this event, we will be quietly placing a 6-step staircase (6steps) in the grass field of Hibiya Park. Anyone can participate for free and enter as they wish, so please come and climb up and down the stairs as if you were taking a stroll.

“Place 6steps in Hibiya Park”
In the grassy plaza of Hibiya Park, we will quietly place “6steps (6-step staircase)” that lead nowhere. On the day of the program, we will climb up and down the steps, take in the view, chat, and spend some time there. Afterwards, we will remove the “6steps” and gather again to spend time in the space where the steps used to be. The project representative Reina Kimura and team members are waiting for you in Hibiya Park.

6steps
“6steps” is a dance project that makes use of a 6-step wooden staircase and can be experienced through one’s sense of sight and touch. Choreographer and dancer Reina Kimura is the project’s representative, and is working with dancers, web engineers, observers, visual artists, and stage producers to explore the function of a platform that connects performing arts and society. Kimura choreographs and directs performances, invites artists to direct performances, and from 2023 will start a project that places 6steps (6-step staircases) in various places and spaces, where she interacts with visitors. While opening up places, time, and choreography from multiple angles, she is searching for dance that involves various bodies.

Reina Kimura / Choreographer, Dancer
Reina Kimura is the founder and representative of 6steps. She is involved in concepts, choreography, and occasional performances, and is interested in the relationship between climate, language, and the body, as well as the way people live and exist. She has created and performed in various locations in Japan and abroad while exploring the question, “For whom does dance exist?” In recent years, she has also worked as a researcher and facilitator for dance projects, working with the bodies and minds of people of all ages. She is a Saison Fellow II as of 2025.



Masashi Nukata will hold “Telephone Game” workshop program! “Telephone Game” workshop program will be held by Masashi Nukata, who leads the contemporary pop band Tokyo Shio Kouji and the theater company NUTHMIQUE. He is active not only in music composition but also in the field of performing arts, as he bases his activities on the question, “What is performance?” Everyone from children to adults are are free to join us in this program.

“Telephone Game”
There are many sounds in the park. Footsteps in leather shoes, birds singing, water dripping from a fountain...are just some of the sounds that surround us. Participants themselves will translate these sounds into words, and other participants will use these words to find them in the park. Even if the sounds you hear are the same, the way you describe them in words and the way you feel them may differ from person to person. You will listen carefully to the sounds, put them into words in your own way, and experience the difficulty and fun of communicating them to someone else.

Yuuki Hasegawa will hold workshop program “Migratory Workshop Integrating Nature and Theater - Exploring Memory and Theater by Walking Around”! A migratory workshop integrating nature and theater titled “Exploring Memory and Theater by Walking Around” will be held by Yuuki Hasegawa. This is an experiential workshop in which participants create their own short theater piece about their memories of the park and present resulting pieces to each other. No previous acting experience is required.

This is an experiential workshop in which participants themselves create and perform a short theatrical piece based on their own memories of the park, using Hibiya Park as a stage. Participants will create a performance of 10 minutes or less at their favorite spots in the park, and at the end of the workshop, a promenade performance will be held in which participants and the audience tour around the park to view all teams' pieces. We invite participants to enjoy this theatrical experience integrated with nature as the audience themselves move through the landscape and enter the world of their stories.

Yuuki Hasegawa is a playwright, director, and comedian born June 16, 1982 in Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
He debuted in 2002 as a member of the comedy duo “Cleopatra”, and in 2017 launched “Ennui”, a union/place where people can get together for the purpose of creation. While working as a comedian, he is currently engaged in creating expressions across various genres, mainly in theater.

第1期 《Forest for Momentum (流れを生む森)》
光と音が立ち上げる、“都市の中の森が生む新たな「場所」”

─ 2025年4月25日(金)17:00から 一夜限りのライブパフォーマンス@日比谷公園 第一花壇 ─ 自然豊かな日比谷公園の中で、世界中から集まった植物たちが森を作り、新たな「場所」を再構成するインスタレーション《Forest for Momentum (流れを生む森)》。

アーティスト小金沢健人とプラントハンター西畠清順により、本展のために作られたこの新作にて、「Hibiya Art Park 2025」1期「Transformed Composition 組み合わせと見立てで遊ぶ」の会期初日を、一夜限りのライブパフォーマンスで飾ります。

小金沢健人による即興性のある光の演出は、雨や煙など、さまざまな現象が起こる空間へまた異なる光と影をもたらし、夜の森の不思議な雰囲気をさらに引き立てます。
サウンドを手掛けるのは、採集した環境音やシンセサイザーなどの電子音を組み合わせて、多彩な音を生み出す上村洋一、箱崎健志。世界中の風景の記憶を日比谷という東京の中心で感じることで、都市の喧騒の中では想像することが難しいような、目に見えない自然の音を意識的に知覚できる「場所」をつくります。

小金沢健人 / Takehito Koganezawa 美術家 
1974年東京生まれ 武蔵野美術大学卒
大学在学中より作品の発表を始め、卒業後はベルリンへ活動の拠点を移し国際的な評価を得る。映像表現を出発点に平面・立体・サウンド・テキストなどさまざまな手法で作品を製作するが、近年はドローイングの運動感覚とパフォーマンスの即興性が重なる空間として、「場所」に着目した制作活動が多い。演劇やダンスなどの舞台芸術や音楽とのコラボレーションも多く、2022年からは2024年までの3年間は神奈川県立音楽堂における「音楽堂のピクニック」のディレクターも務めた。
ヨーロッパを中心に国内外での美術館の展覧会に数多く参加し、横浜トリエンナーレ・シャルジャビエンナーレ・あいちトリエンナーレ・モントリオールビエンナーレ・マニフェスタなど大型の国際展でも作品を発表している。
作品がコレクションされているのはニューヨーク近代美術館をはじめ、ニューサウスウェールズ州立美術館・ハンブルガークンストハレ・東京都現代美術館・金沢21世紀美術館・東京都写真美術館・森美術館など。
上村洋一 / Yoichi Kamimura
上村洋一 / Yoichi Kamimura フィールドレコーディングを通して、人間と自然との内的で精神的な繋がりを探求する。近年は、知床の流氷、アイスランドの氷河、アマゾン熱帯雨林、世界最大の滝イグアスなどのリサーチを元に、没入的なサウンド・インスタレーション、絵画作品、サウンド・パフォーマンス、音響作品などを国内外で発表している。主な展覧会・プロジェクトに、「Awasi Art week by LABVERDE」(Awasi Iguazú, イグアス, 2024)、「LABVERDE SPECULATIVE ECOLOGIES RESIDENCY 2023」(マナウス, 2023)、「From Seeing to Acting」(Looiersgracht 60, アムステルダム, 2021)、「道草展:未知とともに歩む」(水戸芸術館, 水戸, 2020)など。音楽作品として、France Jobinとの共作アルバム「Therme Vals」(Vertical Music, ベルリン, 2023)をリリース。2023年、2024年にロンドンのフィールドレコーディングのアワード「Sound of the Year Awards」を2年連続(Disappearing Sound category/Best Natural Sound category)で受賞。同年、パリのサウンドアワード「Phonurgia Nova 2023 特別賞」受賞。

箱崎健志 / Takeyuki Hakozaki 音楽家・美術家。
音楽家としては、ミニマルミュージックを主軸に、そこから構造的に発展・拡張した音楽作品や立体音響作品を制作。国内外で作品を発表している。美術家としては、人工物の本来の機能を剥奪し、関係性を解体した複数のオブジェクトによる接触から未知の可能性を顕在化させる手法の作品・インスタレーションを国内外で発表。鼓童とのコラボレーションによる《MATSURI with KODO》にて、SPIKES ASIA「USE OF ORIGINAL MUSIC」部門のファイナリストに選出。

暗い夜には光がふくらみ
火の無いところに煙が立つ

場所とはただの空間ではない。その土地のことでもない。
物理的な大地の上で、何か出来事が起こるとき、「場所」というものが出現する。

日比谷公園はこれまでもさまざまな顔をした「場所」であった。

伊達政宗の最後の屋敷であり、帝国陸軍の練兵場でもあった。日本初の洋風庭園であり、国葬も行われれば暴動も起こった。夜には男女が睦み合い、震災後には仮設住宅も建てられた。戦時中には畑となり、高射砲が据えられたりもした。戦後はGHQに接収されて屋外ダンスホールとして使われたこともある。

小金沢健人と西畠清順はこの日比谷の地に新しく「場所」を立ち上げようとしている。
花と光が出会い、雨と煙が出会う。色彩は夜の闇と出会い、太陽は森と出会う。
人も生き物も無生物も現象も、そこに居合わせた存在全てが出会う場所になればいいと考えている。

日比谷公園にれのき広場でイタリア人アーティストジャコモ・ザガネッリ氏によって展開されている《Hibiya Ping Pong Platz》では、会期中関連イベントとして様々なアクティビティを実施することで、《Hibiya Ping Pong Platz》のインスタレーションをプラットフォームのような出会いの場として活用し、参加者同士が交流できる機会を創出します。

「LA FESTA」では、展覧会終了に向け最後の盛り上がりの場として、アーティスト自身が《Hibiya Ping Pong Platz》に常駐し、来場者は一緒にピンポンを楽しむことができます。
さらにイタリア車として有名な可愛らしいフォルムの三輪車「ピアッジオ・アペ」が会場に出張し楽しい音楽と共に展示を盛り上げます。

アーティスト、キュレーター、そして市民参加型プロジェクトの企画者として、幅広く活動している。人々を巻き込んだプロジェクトを数多く手がけており、「公共」や「社会」という概念を「空間」というテーマを通じて問い直し、挑戦している。
2022年から、灰谷歩、シルヴィア・ピアンティーニと共に、東京・墨田区で卓球台を設置することで公共空間の新しい使い方を提案することを目的とした、長期プロジェクト《Ping Pong Platz》をスタート。

【参加者募集】『呼吸にまつわるトレーニングプール -皇居のお堀編- 』公開リハーサルを5/20(火)に実施決定!

上田久美子+miu+川村美紀子『呼吸にまつわるトレーニングプール -皇居のお堀編- 』では、公開リハーサルを実施することとなりました。実施に伴い、「出演参加者」及び「鑑賞者」を募集いたします。
本作は、出演者として上演に参加する「一般の出演参加者」または、上演を観察する「鑑賞者」の2つの参加方法がございます。本作にご興味のある方はぜひこの機会にご参加ください。
※公開リハーサルは本番同様の内容にて実施いたしますが、上演途中の調整や中断が発生する可能性がございます。予めご了承の上、お申込みください。
※「出演参加者」と「鑑賞者」両方のご応募はできません。

劇作家、演出家だけでなく芸人としても活動する長谷川優貴による自然と演劇を融合した回遊型ワークショップ『記憶と演劇を、歩いてめぐる』を開催します。参加者自身が公園での思い出をテーマにした短い演劇作品を創作し、それを互いに鑑賞し合う体験型ワークショップです。参加にあたっての演技経験等は不問です。

自然と演劇を融合した回遊型ワークショップ−記憶と演劇を、歩いてめぐる
日比谷公園を舞台に、参加者自身が公園での思い出をテーマにした短い演劇作品を創作・上演する体験型ワークショップ。参加者は公園内のお気に入りスポットで10分以内のパフォーマンスを制作し、ワークショップの最後には、参加者や観客が公園内の各ポイントを巡りながら全チームの作品を鑑賞する「回遊型(プロムナード)上演」を行います。観客自身が風景の中を移動し、物語の世界に入り込むことで、自然と一体化した演劇体験を楽しんでみましょう。

長谷川優貴(はせがわ・ゆうき)
劇作家・演出家・芸人 。1982 年 6 月 16 日生まれ 静岡県富士市出身。
2002 年お笑いコンビ「クレオパトラ」としてデビュー。2017年クリエイションをする為に集まれる組合/場所「エンニュイ」を旗揚げ。芸人として活動をしつつ、現在は演劇をメインとしながら様々なジャンルを横断し表現をしている。

6stepsは木でできた6段の階段です。これまでも振付・舞台装置として様々な場や空間で、上演/上演を目的としない取り組みを通じて様々な方と時間を過ごしながら、社会の中で踊ること、ひとりで、誰かと、いること、を探ってきました。今回は初めての野外、日比谷公園の草地広場に、どこにも辿り着かない「6段の階段 / 6steps」をそっと置いてみます。
参加も出入りも自由ですので、どなたでもお散歩するようにのぼったりおりたりしにいらしてください。


『6stepsを置いてみる 日比谷公園 編』
日比谷公園の草地広場に、どこにも辿り着かない「6段の階段 / 6steps」をそっと置いてみます。当日はそれぞれ集まって、のぼりおりしたり、眺めたり、話したり、過ごしたり、その後6stepsを片付けて、階段のあった場所にもう一度集まって過ごしてみます。6stepsを踊るための振付をたずさえて、発起人の木村玲奈とプロジェクトメンバーが、日比谷公園でみなさまをお待ちしています。

6steps (シックスステップス)
6stepsは、「6段の階段」を使用した、目で見て触れて体験できるダンスプロジェクト。振付家・ダンサーである木村玲奈が発起人となり、ダンサー・WEBエンジニア・観察者・美術家・舞台制作者らと共に活動を行い、舞台芸術と社会を繋ぐプラットフォームとしての機能を模索している。木村が振付・演出する公演、演出にアーティストを招き行う公演、そして2023年からは、6steps (6段の階段) を様々な場・空間へ置き、訪れる人々と共に時間を過ごすプロジェクトを開始。多角的に場や時間、振付をひらきながら、さまざまな身体と共にダンスを探している。

木村 玲奈 (きむら・れいな) / 振付家・ダンサー
6steps発起人・代表。コンセプト・振付・時々出演。風土や言葉と身体の関係、人の在り方 / 生き方に興味をもち、〈ダンスは誰のために在るのか〉という問いのもと、国内外様々な土地で創作・上演を行う。近年は、ダンスプロジェクトのリサーチャーやファシリテーターとしても、幅広い年代の身体 / 心と向き合う。2020年より東京郊外に『糸口』という小さな場・拠点を構え、土地や社会と緩やかに繋がりながら、発表だけにとどまらない実験と交流の場を運営している。25年よりセゾン・フェローⅡ。

からだとあたまをつかって公園中を動き回り、「遊び」を学び直す、ダンサー・アーティストのAokidによるワークショップを開催します。
子供の頃にさまざまな場所で遊び続けていた時間には、いろいろな学びがあったはず。大人も子供も、準備体操をして、木や地面の土や石に触れ、公園をくまなく見渡し、自分のからだと公園をフル活用して、参加者それぞれの遊び=表現をつくってみましょう!1日の終わりにはそれらを持ち寄り、一つのパフォーマンスに仕立てます。それは、歌なのか、踊りなのか、絵なのか、映画なのか?一章から三章まで、一日中の参加も途中参加もどちらでも歓迎です。夕暮れに気づかないくらいに夢中になって、自然の中で遊んでみませんか。


『子供も大人もわんぱくわくわーく』(1PARK 枠WORK)

第一章「きとひと」|13:00〜14:15
Aokidの準備体操「へんてこたいそう」から始めて、公園内の自然に触れ、環境にからだを馴染ませていきます。

第二章「ちず、ぼう、けん」|14:30〜15:45
公園の各場所の特性に着目し、木の棒を剣に見立てるように「見立て」を進めたり、遊び場の地図を広げたりして、参加者自身の表現や動きをつくっていきます。

第三章「ま、ほう」|16:00〜17:30
参加者がつくったそれぞれの表現を集めて、ひとつのパフォーマンスを制作し、発表してみます。

※第一章~第三章までを一連の「遊び」とします。全章参加、章ごとの参加も可能です。

1988年東京生まれ。14歳でブレイクダンスを始め、思春期はダンスや映画とともに過ごす。東京造形大学映画専攻在学中より舞台芸術や美術作品の制作を開始。ソロダンス作品「地球自由!」(2019/STスポット)や、個展「この家の天井は天空とつながっている。」(2024/nito)など。

コンテンポラリーポップバンド・東京塩麹、演劇カンパニー・ヌトミックを主宰し、作曲だけでなく「上演とは何か」という問いをベースに、パフォーミングアーツの分野でも精力的に活動している額田大志によるワークショッププログラム『音の伝言ゲーム』を開催します。子どもから大人まで、どなたでもお楽しみいただけますので、ぜひお気軽にご参加ください。


『音の伝言ゲーム』
公園にはたくさんの音が鳴っています。革靴の足音、鳥の鳴き声、噴水の水が流れる音……身の周りの音たちを、参加者自らが言葉に変換し、その言葉を頼りに、ほかの参加者が公園内で探し出す、そんな、一風変わった伝言ゲームのようなワークショップです。聞こえている音は同じでも、言葉での表し方、感じ方は人それぞれ異なるかもしれません。音に耳を澄ませて、自分なりに言葉にし、それを誰かに伝える面白さと難しさを体験してみましょう。

1992年東京都出身。コンテンポラリーポップバンド・東京塩麹、演劇カンパニー・ヌトミックを主宰。作曲だけでなく「上演とは何か」という問いをベースに、パフォーミングアーツの分野でも精力的に活動。バンドでのFUJI ROCK FESTIVALの出演や、戯曲『ぼんやりブルース』が第66回岸田國士戯曲賞にノミネートされるなど、音楽と演劇の領域を横断した活動を続けている。

日比谷公園にれのき広場でジャコモ・ザガネッリによって展開される《Hibiya Ping Pong Platz》では、会期中毎週末に関連イベントとして花や植物をテーマに様々なゲストをお呼びしトークイベントを実施します。
《Hibiya Ping Pong Platz》をプラットフォームのような出会いの場として活用し、参加者同士が花や植物に関する多角的な視点を共有し、意見を交換し合える機会を育みます。

■アーティストプロフィール:
ジャコモ・ザガネッリ(写真左上)
アーティスト、キュレーター、そして市民参加型プロジェクトの企画者として、幅広く活動している。人々を巻き込んだプロジェクトを数多く手がけており、「公共」や「社会」という概念を「空間」というテーマを通じて問い直し、挑戦している。
2022年から、灰谷歩、シルヴィア・ピアンティーニと共に、東京・墨田区で卓球台を設置することで公共空間の新しい使い方を提案することを目的とした、長期プロジェクト《Ping Pong Platz》をスタート。


■イベント詳細
①4月26日(土)〜日比谷公園内の花や植物を学び、観察する〜
日比谷公園 園長の渡邉陽一氏をお呼びし、日比谷公園の花や植物、公園の成り立ち、開かれた公園づくりなどの話を聞いた後、参加者と一緒に公園内を散策しながら植物の観察を行います。

公益財団法人東京都公園協会 日比谷公園長
星空を愛し、ボランティアで小学生を対象とした星空観望会をライフワークで実践。プラネタリウム勤務や生涯学習系NPO法人事務局を経て、40代から公園や水辺といった公共のオープンスペース活用に興味を持ち、東京都公園協会に入職。隅田川の賑わい創出や都立公園の多面的活用に取り組み、2023年4月より現職。日比谷周辺エリアとのつながりを意識した新しい公園のあり方を模索中。



②5月4日(日)〜人・植物・環境との関わりを様々な視点から考える〜
人+植物+環境との関わりを意識しながら、自然の恵みを取り入れた様々な活動を行う植物作家の岡本俊英氏をお呼びし、私達を取り巻く環境と植物の関係、関わりを考えます。

Botanical Activist / 植物作家、Viscum Flower Studio代表
人+植物+環境との関わりを意識しながら、自然の恵みを取り入れた様々な活動を行う。近年は植物の蒸留をメインに香りにかえる制作を行い、空間と人との香りの関わりを記録。人の記憶や印象と深く結びつく、コミュニケーションツールとしての香りの重要性を探る。


③5月10日(土)〜生態系をテーマに作品を制作するアーティストとの対話〜
植物や生態系をテーマに作品を制作するアーティストの渡辺志桜里氏をお呼びし、自身の作品や研究についてのお話を伺います。

アーティスト
1984年東京都生まれ。
2017年に東京藝術大学大学院美術研究科彫刻専攻を修了。
2020年に渡邊慎二郎との2人展「Dyadic Stem」(The 5th Floor、東京)や、2021年Chim↑Pom・卯城竜太キュレーションによる初個展「べべ(WHITEHOUSE)で独自の世界観を表現しました。
自身の代表作でもあるインスタレーション作品《サンルーム》において、渡辺にとって身近な遊び場であった皇居から採取された植物、魚、バクテリアなどを別々の水槽に分離させ、それぞれを繋ぎ合わせ水を循環させることで、自動の生態系をつくり出し、それらのアップデートを重ねることによって人類絶滅後も永続可能な生物の営みを維持しています。そこで行われる脱中心的な運動から独自の政治的批判やフェミニズムを語ってきました。
